Meanwhile, according to insiders close to the situation, Sean “Diddy” Combs, the star of one of music and entertainment’s biggest names, refuses to eat any food provided for him inside MDC in Brooklyn while he’s being held. A mogul presently held on some serious charges, he reportedly fears for his life enough that he thinks someone might try to poison him.
Diddy’s arrest this September 2024 sent shock waves across industries. The charges leveled against him were sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and the transportation of people for prostitution. The charges are serious, and if convicted on all of them, he faces a life sentence. His legal team has tried, and so far, repeated attempts for bail have been denied, leaving him in custody as his trial looms.
According to Larry Levine, one-time prisoner and founder of Wall Street Prison Consultants, is only increasing by the day. Speaking to News Nation, Levine says a source called him to say Diddy has refused meals, highly paranoid over what he is being fed.
“People go in custody, they’re anxious, they’re depressed, a lot of things enter their mind, and one of the things they do is they stop eating,”
Levine said, adding that one is worried somebody on the inside may get paid to poison Diddy, which would cause him a heart attack that no one suspects.
He then proceeded to speculate that the reason behind Diddy’s decision could also partly be because of the low quality of food in prisons, described as bland and sometimes moldy. He added that Diddy may as well switch to Kosher foods, since a dietician had just recently visited him.
Not everyone, however, is buying the claims that Diddy is suffering behind bars. On the comments of a social media post, one fan contested the reports and claimed that a friend working at MDC has first-hand knowledge about the current situation and state of Diddy. “This is cap,” the commenter wrote.
“My bro works in the SHU unit where he is being held. Puff cool, and meeting with lawyers every day and eating good. Stop it.”
This is the opposite of how Levine illustrated Diddy: paranoid and starving, which furthers the public’s confusion about which story to believe.
But if anything else was required to push speculation into overdrive, rumors started emerging that he refused food and was placed on suicide watch-standard for high-profile inmates, of course. His lawyer was quick to squash the latter rumors, making it clear Diddy had by no means become suicidal. The reason he went on suicide watch was out of precaution based on his celebrity status, given the overall seriousness of the charges against him.
Prison starvation and stressed situations can lead to disastrous effects on both the physiological and psychological aspects of an individual. Diddy’s lawyers are very observant, as his lawyer Marc Agnifilo tries to reassure people at this opportunity that even then, Diddy is focused on his defense despite his condition.
For now, the whole world waits with bated breath, observing how events will unfold within Diddy’s court case and what damage could be caused in those circumstances if his condition were to go south. His case brings into play legal problems, mental health, and the gruelling realities of prison life. Whatever it is, this case is going to be in headlines for a great deal more time in coming weeks and months.
