DJ Akademiks, the popular media personality, shared some intriguing insights about the lifestyle of the renowned rapper Drake and his relationship with the talented singer SZA. The disclosure came during Akademiks’ appearance on the Full Send Podcast, where he unveiled Drake’s unique sleep habits, his creative process, and a drama involving SZA that unfolded while making Drake’s album “For All the Dogs.”
According to Akademiks, Drake’s sleep schedule is far from ordinary. “Drake is like, ‘Yo, I stay up all night and sleep at 9 a.m. daily. Then I wake up like early afternoon, and I go do regular shit,’” Akademiks shared. As per Akademiks, this nocturnal routine is a testament to Drake’s relentless dedication to his craft. “That’s what it takes to be number one. That’s some crazy shit,” he added.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when Drake brought up an incident involving Akademiks and the talented singer-songwriter SZA. The DJ had made some independent adverse critical comments about SZA during his Rumble stream, which had upset her.

Drake, who was collaborating with SZA on his album ‘For All the Dogs’ at the time, reached out to Akademiks about the issue. He expressed his concern, stating,
“She’s not one of those people who’s built for that type of stuff. She’s an emotional, very precious girl. And he’s like, if it’s not that serious, could you at least let her know? Because I think she really believes that this is the energy that you feel. She’s one of those people who, in the world, it does affect her.”
Following Drake’s intervention, Akademiks did the right thing and apologized to SZA, demonstrating the power of empathy and understanding in the music industry.
Drake’s unconventional sleep pattern has been a topic of discussion, especially considering his complaints about losing sleep due to news station helicopters flying over his mansion. Despite the disturbances, the rapper has always maintained this odd sleep schedule, highlighting his dedication to his craft.
Drake’s relationship with SZA has been convoluted for years, but the pair appear to have figured out how to remain on strong terms. Although both were previously in a relationship, Drake verified this during his verses in 21 Savage’s song “Mr. Right Now” by rapping, “Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.” SZA explained in an interview with Rolling Stone that the relationship with Drake was brief and took place when they saw one another in New York City in 2009. She also said that she and Drake were more like family than anything by the time of the interview.
The disclosures made by DJ Akademiks illustrate the artists’ lifestyle interests. I was amazed to learn of Drake’s unusual sleeping patterns and involvement with SZA. Music might be as intricate and delightful as the people it is inspired by. We can admire the artists’ unbelievable work and loyalty while recognizing that many of us form bonds and cut and break norms to provide the music that millions of individuals enjoy.
