Drew Brees set the new record in the NFL for being the All-Time passing leader, beating out Peyton Manning’s record. Brees now has 71,940K career passing yards in the sport and many celebrated this accomplishment in the sports universe. Lebron, Russell Wilson, and even Payton Manning himself to name a few.
A deep bomb to rookie receiver Tre’Quan Smith is what broke the record in the second quarter of the game v.s. the Washington Redskins. The New Orleans saints also brought home the victory (43-19) with Brees finishing with three touchdowns and 363 passing yards.
Oh, let’s not forget his career-best 89.7% completion percentage (26 of 29). Damn, that’s some good ass football statistics right there. Check it out below in case you missed it.

“There’s so many people that are responsible and had a hand in that,” Brees told ESPN’s Lisa Salters after the game when asked what the record means to him. “The two people that are most responsible for my football career, early on, my mom and my grandpa, are up in heaven.
“There were a lot of people I wanted to prove right tonight, but none more so than them. I know they are watching down on me.”
