The birthday bash of Florida rapper Julio Foolio, turning 26, ended up in ashes. Charles Jones, known to his fans as Foolio, was fatally ambushed in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida, minutes before it was getting to 5 a.m. on June 23, 2024. The party was relocated after an Airbnb-overcrowding issue, and things turned deadly, leaving fans and the entire music community in shock.
From the footage of the surveillance video that has now surfaced, one can see the alarming display of the ambush. Foolio’s black car was left in the familiar parking lot of a Hilton and a Holiday Inn. There, he was celebrating an evening with his friends. Then, at 4:37 AM, the quiet of the early morning was shattered.

He dashed through the parking lot, ran with a semi-automatic rifle, and, within seconds, opened fire on Foolio’s car. The shots came to his car in a row, making it swerve off the road into a curb as quickly as possible as other footage shows gunmen in the distance, pointing to a coordinated attack.
The attack proved fatal. Foolio died, but at least the other three in the vehicle sustained wounds that seemed non-life-threatening. Yet, the gunmen successfully made their getaway, leaving behind an area filled with chaos and emotional wreckage.
Even after his death, Foolio’s social media is very much alive, and his case has been one of mystery and mourning. He continued to post, including a bizarre video edited by AI, posting Foolio’s face with a WWE Caveman, up to hint at resurrection. Resultantly, he now fuels rampant speculation among his fans about whether he faked death to avoid threats or pay homage to his persona.
