Recently, the devastating news of former Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman surfaced. Hillman’s family released a statement stating that Hillman was diagnosed with renal medullar carcinoma cancer, according to TMZ Sports. A rare and highly aggressive type of cancer primarily affects young African Americans with sickle cell trait.
“As a family, we hold onto hope and have unwavering faith that can overcome any challenge,” the family expressed. “We also recognize that we must submit to the divine will of our Almighty God, even when it differs from our own.”
“We appreciate your prayers, and we kindly request your understanding and respect for Ronnie’s privacy and our family during this time.”

Hillman has received treatment, but it’s not been successful. The family explains Hillman is being kept comfortable and out of pain in hospital care. Several of his former teammates came out to honor Hillman and wish him prayers during his tough time. According to the family, Hillman is in hospice fighting for his life essentially.
Former Denver Bronco OL Orlando Franklin who helped block for Hillman for three seasons extends his prayers for former RB.
“He’s in hospice care and his condition is deteriorating,” Franklin shared. “He has pneumonia, and I’m sharing this to request positive thoughts and energy for him.”
