Former Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks center Amar’e Stoudemire has broken the silence on his arrest. He was arrested for assaulting his daughter, however he declares that this narrative is false.
This weekend, he was arrested for allegedly beating his teenage daughter, according to TMZ Sports. On Sunday morning, he was arrested in Miami, Florida, for misdemeanor battery and domestic violence. Recently, he’s been released from custody.
The reports state that Stoudemire struck one of his daughters across the face at least twice, and once with a closed fist. His daughter was left bloodied from the hits, and the blows continued to the body after the blows to the face occurred.

Stoudemire released a statement on the matter via Instagram:
“On my Instagram page, I want to clarify that as the investigation progresses, it will become evident that the allegations are baseless. My daughter’s medical condition is not caused by any assault from a father who is almost 7 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds.”
“I could never imagine harming anyone, especially my children. I deeply value, safeguard, and cherish my family, especially my children,” Stoudemire affirms.
Why Would Amar’e Stoudemire Lose His Control?
According to reports, the reason he lost his composure was while he was attempting to discipline her, she responded with “attitude’ to her grandmother. Ultimately, this led to a “whooping” that seemingly got out of hand by Stoudemire.
Naturally, the daughter reached out to her mother, Alexis, which led to a police call and the arrest.
