It looks like “Friends” will be making a return on HBO Max. The new streaming service that’s coming out in May. It is reported that the new series will be unscripted and bring back the original cast. Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer are all confirmed to return as their original characters. The cast will record the special on the original soundstage that “Friends” premiered on years ago. As of now, the actors are said to get paid up to 3 million dollars for this special.
“Friends” to some is one of the best sit-coms that has ever been created. On the other hand, some of the black fans strayed away from it because it was said to be a rip-off of another classic sit-com, Living Single. However, those fans not watching the show did not make a dent on Friends ratings and fan-base.
Friends aired 236 episodes from 1994 to 2004 on NBC. It was reported that over 52 million viewers watched the Friends final. Also, the show was the second most popular show watched on Netflix. Fans were upset when the show was removed from Netflix in 2019. However, the removal was only because the show is moving to the HBO Max streaming service.
