Georgia football coach Kirby Smart made a headlines following backlash he received over racist comments in viral leaked videos. That being said, the Bulldogs are in a strong position to land several prospects, including two quarterbacks and three wide receivers.
On the offensive side of the ball, former UGA quarterback Mike Bobo is now Georgia’s offensive coordinator. The Georgia native was on Smart’s staff in 2022 and he has a background in coaching at the college level, having spent a lot of time in the NFL as well.

The Bulldogs are also looking for a few veteran players to help them on the defensive side of the ball. Another player transferring to Georgia is reserve defensive lineman Bill Norton, who played in all of the games this season.
Monken, who is leaving to become the new offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, helped transform Georgia’s offense in recent years from a plodding, conservative style to one that averaged 7.17 yards per play (ninth nationally) in the last three seasons under his watch.
A big part of the transformation was a switch to a more diverse and innovative playbook, which has resulted in some of the most explosive passing attacks in the country. That’s why he will be missed.
Taylor faces backlash for the racist comments he made in these leaked viral videos. In the videos, Taylor joked about hiring someone to hunt and hang Black people, referred to Atlanta as a “n***er town,” and used bigoted banter about sex workers.
There’s always a mic somewhere
In the videos, Taylor also makes derogatory comments about women and a woman of color who cuts him off in traffic. He also threatens to hang her from a tree, making some of the most vile comments about people of color that we’ve seen since the death of Jordan Davis.
There’s no denying that the videos are disturbing and offensive, but they also serve as an important reminder of how race plays a role in our society. It’s a reminder to take action on racism in our communities and to work toward creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
The videos are a great reminder to everyone that there’s still a long way to go in this battle against racism. Stand up to those who choose to use their power to hurt others. Also take the opportunity to show our support for those who have faced racism in their lives.
We hope that the videos can spark a movement to end racism, especially in this time of turmoil. We also look forward to bringing you more stories on this topic in the coming days.
