GloRilla Drops Star-Studded Lineup for Debut Album “Glorious”

GloRilla’s Glorious will make its way this coming Friday, October 11, 2024. With her raw, forceful style of rap, GloRilla has been preparing to show the artistic growth many have come to expect from her with the release of this full-length work. Glorious promises a bold mix of Memphis rap roots, gospel undertones, and bits of R&B in perfect amalgamation, bringing versatility to the fore.

It will also boast an amazing lineup of featured contributors. Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, and Sexyy Redd are some of hip-hop’s best who will be bringing their cadences to Glorious, adding that extra special sauce to the energetic and eclectic mix. Megan and Latto have both collaborated with GloRilla in the past, but this should push those collaborations to new heights.

The unlikely genre-bending is what really sets Glorious apart. GloRilla has experimented with gospel, bringing in legends of the genre such as Kirk Franklin, Kierra Sheard, and Maverick City Music for songs that marry rap’s stark street tales to life-affirming messages from the gospel. Most notable is the inclusion of Maverick City Music’s Chandler Moore; his spiritual-yet-gritty sound only adds more oomph to GloRilla’s bold genre-bending.

Not to mention a slew of other features beyond rap and gospel, too. T-Pain comes through with his signature Auto-Tune hooks, up-and-comers Muni Long and Fridayy bring their new-school flavor, Bossman Dlow makes an energetic appearance, and so on and so forth.

GloRilla - Hollon (Official Music Video)

Since GloRilla dropped her 2024 mixtape, her career has been coursing upwards, not really slowing down to make her place in the industry quite strong. Her hit single “TGIF” is already familiar to her fans but will feature on Glorious and made quite the dent, peaking at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. Still, perhaps her latest single, “Hollon,” has raised the stakes surrounding the album drops.

The production here, courtesy of the following legends: Zenjikozen, Jess Jackson, Brophy, SkipOnDaBeat, and FnZ, is some of the best in the business-a soundscape that takes GloRilla’s artistic range further than ever before, moving seamlessly from hard-hitting rap beats to more soulful, gospel-influenced tracks.

Even the album artwork is the testament to GloRilla’s extroverted character; paying homage to ’90s R&B, the album cover features her adorning a statement pair of gold hoop earrings, citing both the nostalgic and the new. That same aesthetic is held within Glorious, a project birthed from the core yet reaching for the future.
