It looks as if the government shutdown is affording more people the time to enjoy some alone time.
According to recent research, conducted by Pornhub, there’s been a spike in their viewership. Pornhub reports that since government jobs have been placed on hold, they’ve seen an almost 6% increase.
President Donald Trump first initiated a government shutdown in December– December 22 to be exact. Since then, more than 800,000 people have been out of work, and haven’t been able to collect pay. And to make matters worse, he has no plans to reopen the government until Democrats grant him the proposed $5.7 billion to build a border wall.
Pornhub believes that with so many people not able to work, they’ve been looking for other ways to stay busy. And as studies show, most people are looking for something to hold their attention after the sun goes down.
“Late-night traffic increased by up to 14% above average, while early morning traffic from 9am to 10am had the smallest change.”
Their insight team collected data from Jan. 7 to Jan. 11 to conclude their findings. They’ve also concluded that Washington D.C., specifically, has seen a huge increase in the number of people watching porn.
