Jean Segura; Luke Williams Back-to-back Walkoffs Finish Braves
The Phillies have plenty to celebrate with two back-to-back walkoffs by Jean Segura and Luke Williams to finish off the Atlanta Braves. Consequently, each walk-off came after must score opportunities in which the Phillies may have incurred a possibly loss.
Wheeler deals them but the Phillies struggle to clear the win.
Zack Wheeler gave Phillies fans another brilliant pitching performance. Additionally, Wheeler lowered his ERA to 2.29, and only allowed four singles and no walks. But, in order for it to count the Phillies needed to take care the offense and defense to ensure a win. That almost didn’t happen.
In the bottom of the eight, Philadelphia gets on the board (1-0) when Jean Segura doubles towards left field. In the nineth, Neris came in to close. But, instead of securing the win, he sets up a homerun by Freddie Freeman which tied the game (1-1). To make things worse, Alvarado came in and walked three batters in a row and throw a offbeat wild pitch that allowed a run to score in the tenth (1-3).

Cue Jean Segura. While everything is on the line, Segura steps to the plate. At this point, that’s it, Phillies fans are thinking, “this may be a loss.” Immediately, prior, Bohm and the center fielder managed to get on base reducing the Atlanta’s lead within one (Bohm scored Marchan 2-3). Then, comes the pitch, a 84 MPH slider. Segura hit and it bounces off the wall to end the game in walk-off fashion.

Back to Back; Luke Williams Walk Off Debut
Only Since 2019, the Phillies managed a back-to-back walkoff combo. Yesterday, the newly brought up, Luke Williams managed to give the Phillies a walk-off win. Amazingly, It was the rookie’s first major league homerun, rbi, and walkoff win. Needless to say, he was floating across those bases with the biggest smile on his face.
