    Jennifer Aniston endorses Kamala Harris

Jennifer Aniston has taken to social media to publicly support Kamala Harris and her vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz in the 2024 U.S. presidential election by imploring her followers to vote for “sanity and human decency.” In the powerful post, the star of Friends showed her support for everything from healthcare access, freedom of reproductive choice, and equal rights, to safe schools and a fair economy-all of which she feels are threatened by the current administration.

“Today, I not only voted for access to healthcare, for reproductive freedom, for equal rights, for safe schools, and an economy that is fair, but I voted for sanity, and humanness,” Aniston added in X, formerly known as Twitter. Her post called for a stop to the divisive atmosphere of intimidation that has plagued our nation and implored voters to elect leaders who create unity rather than division.

Aniston said she is frustrated with divisive political rhetoric; even now, it dominates public discourse: “Aren’t you tired of this negativity towards one another? The intimidation and constant threats to people who don’t think the same as the other? Then, approaching Election Day, she called upon her followers to action-discuss the essence of voting with their friends, family, and neighbors. She said all of them have in their hands the power to be part of spoken words that will shape the nation’s future. “Please remember that whoever you are and wherever you live, your voice matters.

Aniston’s endorsement comes amid controversial comments from JD Vance, the running mate of Republican candidate Donald Trump. Vance, during an interview over the weekend, suggested that childless women do not have a “direct stake” in the country-a comment many felt was thrown at Kamala Harris and others. Aniston-who has been very public about her own struggles with infertility-was taken aback by Vance’s comment. She added that the truth is, more women are struggling with infertility is a painful and sensitive one.

She hoped someday Vance’s daughter would not confront the same difficulties if she wants to be a mother sometime, which again; is ironic since it is very well known that Vance has always opposed treatments for infertility. In her post, Aniston urged Americans to vote for leaders who will help unite and work towards a common good, rather than old ones who would foster fear and divisiveness. “Let’s please end this era of fear, chaos, and the attacks on our democracy,” she wrote. “Vote for someone who will unite us and not continue to threaten to divide us.
