Jerry Springer Returns to Daytime TV as “Judge Jerry”

As Jerry Springer moves forward into daytime television, he will have order in his court.

Airing in Fall 2019, Springer will launch his debut role on a new syndicated court program. They’re calling it “Judge Jerry.” “For the first time in my life, I am going to be called honorable,” Springer said. “My career is coming full circle and I finally get to put my law degree to use after all these years.”

“Judge Jerry” will be all about settling disputes, while also giving fans some of that classic “Jerry” attitude. For 27 years, The Jerry Springer Show aired on NBC. It was best known for it’s unpredictable guests appearances and a screaming crowd that loved to entice the situations.

Tracie Wilson, executive vice president of creative affairs for NBCUniversal TV Distribution, said, “‘Judge Jerry’ will merge Jerry’s talent for connecting with people, his incredibly relatable and funny personality and his legal training and governing experience to bring viewers a more entertaining court show.”

Springer once served as the mayor of Cincinnati. This will be his first time presiding over legal disputes.
