Former Dance Moms sensation JoJo Siwa, an energetic pop star, got pranked on a new digital series called Punk You. Known for the bubbly appearance and playful nature, things took an intriguing turn one day when JoJo was tricked into thinking she had been the victim of identity theft. The stunt involved with Punk’d’s rebooting cast JoJo in allegations of wire fraud, bank fraud, and misuse of credit cards.
The stunt began with JoJo’s driver being pulled over by what appeared to be an official FBI SUV. At first, JoJo thought it was all in good fun, saying,
“Getting pulled over by the secret agents? This is a new one.”
That lighthearted moment didn’t last long, though. As agents insisted her identity had been swiped, JoJo’s playful mood turned to worry. She started asking if the car doors were locked and whispered anxiously to her driver.
Emotional, JoJo called her mom, Jessalynn Siwa, for some guidance.
“I got pulled over by the FBI,”
she explained in a very perplexed and concernedly worried voice. She further explained to her mom how she was taken onto the rooftop of a parking structure, where it was mentioned that someone was impersonating her.
“I’m shooken,”
she exclaimed, really rattled.
“Like, what the f–k is happening right now?”
But behind the scenes, Jessalynn was in on the joke. She watched for her daughter’s reactions, waiting for that telltale sign that JoJo had fallen for it. That sign came when JoJo texted her the family’s agreed-upon “panic” code word-Beyoncé.
“Her code word is ‘Beyoncé’ ,
Jessalynn later revealed with a chuckle,
“and when she texted me that, I knew we got her.”
The new series Punk You is a reboot of the original show Punk’d, continuing to play pranks on other celebrity names: Sexyy Red the rapper, NLE Choppa, streamer Jynxzi, and artist DDG. JoJo’s full prank episode is highly anticipated by her fans to come out on YouTube on October 19, 2024, as to what happens to others out under pressure.
Viewers’ feedback on how JoJo reacted to the prank has been divided. Some found her panic and humor cute; they enjoyed her candid response during the ordeal. Others have gone on social media to say perhaps the prank went too far, and fear, all real for her. Whatever the opinion, Punk You has already taken the internet by storm, proving that even stars as seasoned as JoJo Siwa can be completely punk’d when the joke is played well. If viewers laugh or cringe, they most likely tune in for more moments of disbelief and hilarity on this rebooted series of pranks.
