Kanye West Accused of Drugging and Assaulting Former Assistant at Diddy’s Party

Lauren Pisciotta, a former assistant to Kanye West, filed the lawsuit against the controversial rapper for allegedly being drugged and sexually assaulted at a party that was hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs. The lawsuit filed on 11 October 2024 paints a grim picture of experiences that Pisciotta had with West while she was in his employment; these include sexual harassment and stalking.

Pisciotta described the incident, at a high-profile party where she was handed a drink by Kanye West. Few minutes later, she reported feeling disoriented and unable to remember much of what happened that night. This feeling of vulnerability and confusion stayed long after the event.

Her lawsuit reveals that she was not alone in being traumatized that night. There was also her unnamed musician client, who was in attendance and reportedly too traumatized to discuss what had happened. In fact, court documents reveal Pisciotta had seemed to feel drugged, yet initially believed it might be “someone else” at the party who was responsible.

Pisciotta suspected a studio assistant had spiked her drink but was able to get away before any sexual assault had occurred. The situation took a turn for the worse in November 2022 when West allegedly confessed to her that the two had “hooked up” after she was drugged.

This revelation came during a discussion about West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian making a rude comment about Pisciotta. After Pisciotta tried calling Kardashian to clear things up with her, West intervened and, in passing, brought up the incident. This left Pisciotta shocked, as she has no recollection of this incident.

Pisciotta’s lawsuit is grim, detailing her experience working under West, highlighting a pattern of inappropriate behavior by the defendant that goes beyond the party. She accused him of sexual harassment, stalking, and building a hostile work environment. She said that he would often send her explicit messages, photos, or videos, which were extremely uncomfortable and made her feel unsafe.

The response from Kanye West comes out guns ablazing, as expected. His lawyers have referred to the matter at hand as “baseless,” insinuating that whatever Pisciotta is claiming has been part of a greater scheme to destroy his good reputation. They further alleged that she tried to manipulate West in order to get long-term employment that her lawsuit is nothing but a personal interest in, not justice.

West has said he will file a lawsuit also to rebut Pisciotta’s allegations. Representatives for West would not comment on the explicit communications but appear working to discredit Pisciotta’s account in their July 29 filing.

Pisciotta, who worked for West from 2021 into 2022, alleges she was tapped first for creative work on some of West’s most significant projects over that period. She designed for West’s Yeezy fashion line and worked on his 2021 album Donda.

As close as she was to high-profile projects with the artist, Pisciotta claims her time working for West was marred by inappropriate behavior and escalating harassment.

Her suit speaks of a workplace filled with tension and fear. She refers to the West advancing on her sexually, pointing out the incidence where he even tried to “gift” her to another celebrity.

For Pisciotta, the straw that broke the camel’s back was her wrongful termination last November 2022; she claimed this was because West failed to provide the promised severance amount of $3 million.

This is not the first time that allegations of misbehavior have been filed against Kanye West. His personal and professional life has been enveloped in controversy, with multiple lawsuits ranging from copyright infringement to racial discrimination.

It has lately also been accused of domestic abuse, where there were reports stating that he put his current wife, Bianca Censori, in compromising situations and limited social interactions. The growing legal issues have mounted over West’s career and public image.

The suit filed by Pisciotta forms part of an emerging pattern of complaints filed against West. Indeed, a few of his former colleagues, another vocalist among them, have also given accounts of how they were drugged and subsequently raped by him. Added to the fact that he has earlier admitted to being addicted to pornography, these complaints raise serious questions about the legality and morality of the actions of the said West.

As more allegations against Kanye West mount, the public is confronted with a larger talk about accountability, abuse of power, and the protection of vulnerable individuals in the entertainment industry. The #MeToo movement has indeed brought to center stage how pervasive sexual harassment and assault are in the workplace, while cases like this continue to remind that this is a conversation that requires not only vigilance but continued action.

The complaint from Pisciotta also serves as a reminder of the ugly nature of power within industries like music and fashion, where some assistants and junior employees are often placed under heavy silencing pressure. The outcome of this suit will doubtless have greater implications for West, and for the larger conversation surrounding sexual misconduct within entertainment.
