Kanye West Allegedly Addicted to Nitrous Oxide

One of the most explosive revelations came from former Chief of Staff Milo Yiannopoulos, who exposed Kanye’s supposed problem with nitrous oxide, more commonly known as laughing gas. Now, according to Yiannopoulos, this was severely affecting West’s ability to put out new music and clothes, which was once the heart of a very strong, virtually unstoppable force with the Yeezy brand. Yiannopoulos says this addiction has come from West’s turncoat dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly who had been reportedly providing Kanye with the gas for his partying binges at exorbitant “luxury” rates.

These accusations are not only disturbing because it deprives West of his health and career but also raises serious questions regarding the responsibility and legality of medical professionals who treat top-billed patients.

Yiannopoulos has filed a long, detailed affidavit in which he accuses Connelly of taking full advantage of West’s mental health issues, namely his bipolar disorder, by supplying him with vast amounts of nitrous oxide for non-medical purposes. As Yiannopoulos now claims, Connelly flogged the gas to West for the breathtaking sum of north of $50,000 a month while fully apprised of the risks involved—especially where those have a past history of mental illness.

As shown by Yiannopoulos, Connelly’s conduct went beyond just being negligent. He describes further how Connelly also moved into the same building as Kanye West, who was his famous client, so that he can now monitor West with more ease and that other claims state that he was doing everything to silence his critics and potential whistle-blowers on social media, even amidst the deepening questions about the super publicist’s activities.

In fact, Yiannopoulos has gone ahead to say that Kanye West’s purported addiction to nitrous oxide has continued to devastate his creative outputs. A prolific artist, West has reportedly struggled to release new music and maintain his fashion empire with the addiction contributing to a noticeable decline in his work.

Nitrous oxide, especially large excesses and misuse from a medical point of view, is dramatically dangerous to health. It can actually lead to disabilities in mental and cognitive function, as well as to serious, permanent physical health complications. For someone like West, who has publicly been fighting a battle with bipolar disorder, misusing such a substance could aggravate his condition, possibly leading to more severe episodes.

In a statement addressing the allegations, Dr. Thomas Connelly has emerged to deny the multiple allegations. According to the TMZ, Connelly dismisses the allegations by Yiannopoulos as baseless and furthermore came out to declare that he had never done anything that wasn’t in West’s best interest. The weight of the allegations notwithstanding, his case has been deemed fit for investigations from the California Dental Board.

Yiannopoulos expressed disappointment for what he perceived as an incapacity of TMZ to follow up on his allegations and to concentrate on Connelly’s brush-off.

The accusations made against Dr. Connelly, however, if true, may pose significant legal and moral implications. With the possibility of losing to his license, as the California Dental Board may rule out that such infractions of the moral codes existed by providing nitrous oxide for leisure activities, the allegations also do spike on the general role of the caretakers that work with public figures, especially those who have been deemed as having past or current mental health disorders.

There may, however, be far-reaching legal implications beyond the scope of the dental board’s intervention. In the worst-case scenario, if found guilty of fraudulence charges, specifically for practicing serious fraud or inharms way — where the evidence showed that health Weth was dramatically at the potential place West’s health in danger, Connelly could indeed face criminal charges.

Nitrous oxide, though generally accepted as the top anaesthetic for use in dental procedures, does not come without its weaknesses when used inappropriately. It causes minor side effects such as slight dizziness and nausea and more advanced complications which include memory loss and impairment of cognitive ability. Continued abuse or overuse will eventually lead to hypoxia; a state caused by lack of oxygen supply into the brain, which could be irrecoverable, thus critical.

For a person that has a mental health issue, like bipolar disorder, taking nitrous oxide would be of particular detriment. This gas is able to provoke symptoms of mania and depression, which naturally involves more acute episodes and provides a greater opportunity to harm themselves further in health.
