Colonel Sanders Welcomes Chicken and Waffles to the KFC Family

It’s big things poppin’ over at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The famous chicken restaurant debuted some new sweet and crunchy items to their menu.

Now until December 31, chicken and waffles will take up a permanent residency alongside the Crispy Colonel sandwich and the Original Recipe. The new item will be available at KFC’s nearly 4,200 locations, nationwide.

In a statement, Andrea Zahumensky, KFC’s U.S. chief marketing officer, said, “Our famous extra crispy, savory fried chicken atop a Belgian Liege-style waffle, with the finishing touch of classic Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, makes for a scrumptious dish I’d put up against versions at upscale restaurants, but we’re offering it at a price just about anyone can afford.”

The head chef at KFC described the addition as something of no-comparison to America’s usual version of waffles. Customers can choose between KFC’s extra crispy chicken or extra crispy chicken tenders, all starting at $5.49. Chicken and waffles will also be joined by it’s new cousin– the KFC Hot Honey fried chicken breast filet between two waffles, estimated at just $5.99.

The new items come served with Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup.
