It’s no secret that we’re in the middle of a climate crisis and the Australian wildfires are a direct result of it.
Since the fires broke out, celebrities including Pink, Russell Crowe, Rebel Wilson, and Ellen DeGeneres have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in relief funds to support those affected and have used their platforms to urge followers to do so as well.
Late last week, Kim Kardashian West tweeted “Climate change is real” with an earth and broken heart emojis.
Twitter was quick to respond.
Users snapped at KKW’s post with responses like “if only we knew people with money!”, “ur entire family has enough money to stop it Kimberly lmaoo”
Another user wrote, regarding the high carbon emissions caused by jets: “omg yes woke queen! are you going to stop flying your private jets to the grocery store tho?”
Kim let the comments fly until one twitter user responded with, tagging Kim and her sisters, “Nothing gets me more heated than to see the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires & not donate even a penny.”

That user has since deleted the tweet after KKW slammed it tweeting “Nothing gets me more heated than to see people think they know what we donated to and to think we have to publicize everything,”
Since Kim’s comment there’s been no definite confirmation on her donation.
Twitter, again, didn’t keep quiet.
One user wrote, “You got your career off of publicizing everything ma’am, but you suddenly don’t like publicizing good things?”
Another commented “actually Kim it’s GOOD to show people that you’ve donated so your fans will follow in your way. You did the bare minimum to help Australia so don’t you even dare act like you did such a tireless act of good humanitarian work.”
How do you guys feel about this? As a public figure, is Kim obligated to share every detail?
