New artists are coming up faster than the music industry can keep up with. Oakland, CA artist King Kosh has been on the rise to fame for some time now. The musical talent has dropped hit after hit and he’s just getting started. Furthermore, Kosh has an entire arsenal of great collaborations with other great talents such as M1of Dead Prez with the track “Bring The Yellow Tape” and Wise Intelligent of Poor Righteous Teachers on “G-5 Power Raps.” Additionally, King Kosh has headlined concerts for huge stars like the legendary reggae artist Nicodemus, Wu-Tang Clan and The Fugee throughout the years. Clearly, King Kosh has managed to make his presence known in the rap scene.
Continuing his come up, the Belize-born artist recently dropped his newest Caribbean-influenced track “Prize” featuring fellow new artist Altee. In this catchy track, King Kosh fights for the affections of a love interest.
King Kosh’s New Jam Arrives Just In Time For Summer
With summer almost coming to an end, everyone is trying their hardest to squeeze in that last summer track. Oakland, CA rapper King Kosh definitely cast in his entry this month with his Caribbean-inspired remix of “Prize.” With the easy-flowing vibes, Caribbean sounds and Kosh’s catchy bars, the track makes for one fun and flirty summer track.
The music video even compliments the easy-going vibe throughout the song. Furthermore, the clip offers stunning visuals of an island retreat, filled with rolling waves, sunsets, and sandy beaches. Furthermore, we find King Kosh working as the cleaning crew while fenning for the affections of a female visitor, played by actress and model Tanya Romero.
She also catches the eye of Kosh’s collaborator on the song, Altee. Throughout the music video, both men try to show Romero a good time by taking her on rides, hanging out by the beach and having lunch together. Arguably, Altee seems to have spent more time with the potential love interest. Though, “Prize” hilariously ends with neither of them winning over Tanya Romero.
Serves them right, since women aren’t prizes to be won in the first place. Nonetheless, King Kosh’s song comes as a lighthearted and catchy tune that can easily be played at a summer jam concert.
What’s Next For The Belize Artist?
When it comes to making catchy summer jams, King Kosh has a knack for it. Despite dropping a string of great tracks though, the Oakland native also has other plans for the future. He’s the proud owner of his own record label Gemstones Official Music Group and plans to put out more vibey tracks like “Prize.”
Additionally, King Kosh has been working on his acting career on the side. Furthermore, he scored a major acting role in the coming of age film My Father Belize. The film finds a young man having to deal with the challenges of his hectic life. Moreover, the movie premiered at The Belize Film Festival in 2019. Additionally, it won several awards such as “Best Short Film” and “Audience Choice” at the Oakland International Film Festival in The Bay Area, CA in 2019.
