Latto has led up to this release with several singles, including the catchy “Big Mama” and “Sunday Service.” These alone have set a clear expectation for what’s to come. To further hype the album, she released a trailer narrated by Big Rube, underscoring its deep connection to Atlanta’s thriving hip-hop culture.
Latto has long had a rep for strong bars and delivery that’s unflappable. This only increased when it came time to create Sugar Honey Ice Tea: She knew exactly whom she wanted to please—her fans. “I wanted to make something that related to my listeners,” she said, adding, “every song is a part of me; hopefully, they think about that when they play ’em.”
The title itself, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, is incomes with a bit of a play on something that sounds a lot like the euphemism for “S.H.I.T.” This was such a Latto move: fun and cheeky. Aside from that being nice, though, people are really looking forward to seeing where this might translate into the music itself.

Known producers aren’t specifically widely publicized, but one of the producers known to be on it is DJ Toomp—what is more, he brings in those hard-hitting beats. Featured is also 2 Chainz, who guaranteedly makes sure that this album really captures the heavy sound of Atlanta hip-hop.
The trailer for Sugar Honey Iced Tea contains appearances by 2 Chainz and T.I., adapting some elements inspired by the cult motion picture ATL. Followers also get a glimpse of SZA’s vocals, that is indicative of an intriguing collaboration.
With the release date much closer, Latto would like her fans to listen to this album in order. She is careful about deciding on the track arrangement and says, “I want them to feel the journey that I created.”
