The drama surrounding Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams” cover art just took a sharp turn. A leaked security video has fans questioning the entire narrative of stolen belongings.
Remember the Cover Art? It featured a shirt, receipt, jewelry tags, a Maybach glove and most notably, prescription bottles labeled “Aubrey Graham” (Drake’s real name). This fueled speculation that Drake’s items were lifted, with DJ Akademiks even voicing his support for the theft theory.

A New York Twitter user EbonyPrince2K24 claiming to possess the very items on the cover. The tweet includes a message asserting that Kendrick Lamar is not lying, and the poster is not a thief, demanding Drake and Akademiks to retract their claims of theft by noon Monday 5/13/24, backed by legal action.
#1. King @KENDRICKLAMAR is not a liar, and I am not a thief!
#2. Mr. Aubrey Graham (@DRAKE) & Mr. Livingston Allen (@AKADEMIKS) have until noon Monday 5/13/24 to retract your claims of theft, or my attorney Ms. Adrienne Edward and I will exhaust every legal option available. PIC.TWITTER.COM/MM6TBJMIXC

He also posted another security cam picture of drake exiting from a hotel and he wrote
” To Mr. Aubrey Graham (@Drake), may this photo help jog your memory as to where you discarded those items. The issue in the photo should also jog your memory. Jimmy Brooks would not have been proud of you that night…”

The post was made to jog Drake’s memory about some items that were apparently discarded. The reference to “Jimmy Brooks” in the post is a nod to Drake’s character from the TV show “Degrassi: The Next Generation”.
The location of the security cam picture is interesting. It’s in Dumbo, downtown Brooklyn, right before the Manhattan skyline, around Kendrick Lamar’s NYC condo/penthouse. The security cam picture is from the Mark Hotel. It was around the time Drake did those shows at the Apollo.
There’s speculation that the items weren’t stolen but mistakenly thrown away or left behind by Drake. That security photo looks like a hotel. Could it have been a bunch of stuff he left in his room after checking out?
Two Sides of the Story:
- Theft Theory: Initially fueled by DJ Akademiks, a Drake ally, this theory suggested Drake’s belongings were lifted.
- Lost & Found Theory: The leaked security cam picture suggests Drake might have accidentally left the items at the hotel. Was it a late checkout or a post-concert haze?
The cover art displayed Zolpidem (sleep medication) and Ozempic (diabetes medication) labeled with Drake’s name. Zolpidem is used to treat insomnia among adults for a brief period. It helps people to sleep faster and is part of a category of drugs known as sedative-hypnotics. This potential confirmation of prescription drug use could further fuel the feud and sway public opinion towards both rappers.
Suddenly, there was a leak of a security cam picture, which appeared to capture Drake discarding all of the items depicted on Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams” cover. Everything went down quickly then: the idea of theft was shredded, and the whole issue became a case of simply thoughtlessly misplaced things and lapsed memories. This twist not only brings the personal life of the rappers into question, but it also adds a smidgen of comic ridiculousness to the topic. As everyone awaits Drake’s counter and the possibly pending lawsuit from the elusive EbonyPrince2K24.
