During a recent interview with GQ, the “SCOOP” rapper predicted that the hip-hop industry will change its “homophobic” attitudes within the next decade. Furthermore, Lil Nas X believes the rap scene will open its doors to more gay and transgender rappers in the future.

“In the future, there will be many gay rappers and more transgender individuals in the industry. What I’m doing now won’t even be considered shocking,” the rapper stated in the interview.

With LGBTQ+ stars like Da Brat, ILoveMakonnen, Kevin Abstract and Frank Ocean already in the industry, the change for a better future has already begun.

The 22-year-old rap star has put in a lot of groundwork for the new generation of gay and transgender rappers. It seems that his predictions may come to pass, given the influx of new and upcoming talent. Due to his dedication to the LGBTQ+ community, GQ honored him as “Man of The Year.”

Additionally, he celebrated his victory, alongside other honorees Tom Holland and Giannis Antetokounmpo, at The West Hollywood EDITION of GQ’s annual “Man of The Year Party.” Moreover, Lil Nas X showed up to the party flashing his hard abs in an unbuttoned black and white, bedazzled ensemble. He even wore black chunky platforms to match. The rapper looked every bit of a Hollywood star.
