Chicago rapper Lil Reese, known offstage as Tavares Taylor, has been in recent news after serious allegations were brought up against him.
The Los Angeles Police Department arrested Lil Reese on suspicion of sexual assault and rape following the alleged incident, which all went down after a dinner date with a woman claiming Reese forced himself on her at a hotel.
According to the police report, the lady rebuffed Reese’s advances before he allegedly forced himself on her. She went down to the hotel lobby and called police in the early hours of Sunday, July 14, soon after the alleged assault. Reese was arrested shortly thereafter while still at the hotel.

The 31-year-old rapper was released on a $100,000 bond. Despite these serious allegations against him, Reese has already gotten on social media to dispute the allegations.
Following his arrest, Lil Reese went to Instagram to strongly deny the charges.
“On my sister Ree Ree da whole story cap and made up f*** I look like dis ain’t dat I know better,”
he wrote. Reese says that all accusations are totally fabricated and he has no single doubt that it will be dismissed once it makes its way through court.
Lil Reese’s legal troubles certainly aren’t anything new, though. He has had prior cases of violence against women, complicating the matter at hand.
Back in 2022, Reese was arrested for the crime of domestic violence and spent seven months in prison after being charged with the assault of a family member. Recently, on May 29, he was arrested once again for the crime of domestic battery. Based on the incident, he administered visible injuries to his girlfriend by “yanking her by the hair multiple times,” then striking her in the face. Reese has consistently denied these past allegations as well.
Although the charges against Lil Reese are very serious in nature, the constant denial on his part and claims of misinformation somehow complicate the case. It will be very important to view from all perspectives as more on this case unfolds. As of now, however, Lil Reese insists he is not guilty and vows to prove it so within the courts.
