Rapper Lil Yachty says he wishes he never said anything about Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef. The “Poland” singer, in a recent episode of his podcaster, said he started to get really uncomfortable being caught in the crossfire of two of music’s biggest titans.

He now addressed the most common perception, that Drake might have lost something important from this feud. He firmly disagreed. According to him, Drake remains a dominant factor in the music industry. “Drake ain’t lose nothing from this, he still at the top dropping hits, running the game.” Yachty tries to explain that Kendrick Lamar’s strategic moves were very commendable, but they did nothing to dent Drake’s stature and influence.
He recalled having a conversation with Drake, during which he shared his honest opinion: neither of the artists came out from it as winners or losers. “I told Drake, I don’t think either of you won or lost. You both continue to make incredible music and have massive followings,” Yachty shared.
Yachty’s podcast comments tore social media apart. Some fans applauded him for his honesty, mainly in respect to being open on the whole controversy and appreciation of how he came out to express regret and respect toward both artists. “It’s refreshing seeing Yachty this open with his feelings; that takes guts to admit you’re wrong,” said one user.
Others, however, said that the statements by Yachty were a diplomatic move to acknowledge Kendrick Lamar’s win but uphold Drake’s legacy. “Yachty’s playing it safe. He’s acknowledging Kendrick’s win but also keeping Drake’s legacy intact,” another user observed.
