Rapper Lil Yachty spilled the beans that he was behind leaking his unreleased song “Super Soak” through high-profile Twitch streamer Kai Cenat. It is one of the most highly anticipated collaborations between rapper Lil Yachty and rap superstar Drake. The revelation shook the music world and had fans going wild.
First titled “Super Soak” or “SOD,” it was going to be a monster mash of two totally different styles of Lil Yachty and Drake. Just the thought of the pairing had many fans salivating leading up to its eventual release. The track ran into an unexpected snag.
The song sampled a track by Mr. Hotspot, titled “Goodness Gracious,” which has been quite problematic. Mr. Hotspot is now on a religious path and is a Christian; he wouldn’t clear the sample. This was because it went against his faith and what he wants to sow in the people through his music.
Now, frustrated by not being able to release “Super Soak” as an official track, Lil Yachty had to think creative. That’s when he sent the track over to popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat. It was simple but ballsy: to share the song with the fans in an unconventional way.
Lil Yachty says he sent Kai Cenat his song “Super Soak” with Drake to leak on stream, after Mr Hotspot did not want to clear the sample because he’s religious

Kai Cenat played the track during a live stream, and it immediately leaked. To break that blockade of the official release, Lil Yachty took an institutional gamble by feeding fans what they were salivating for.
The “Super Soak” leak sent a buzz in just a short time. Lil Yachty and Drake fans were so much excited to eventually be able, for the very first time, to hear that track; elation and praise flooded social media straight away. The sudden form of release only heightened the glamour of the song, thus making it hotly debated in various platforms.
Those within the music industry, however, had different reactions. Some were rather complimentary toward Lil Yachty, saying that he was ingenious in finding a way to share the song with his audience; others were concerned with the ramification of such actions on intellectual property and sample clearance.
Lil Yachty later confirmed that “Super Soak” would not arrive officially due to sample clearance issues. Of course, this announcement sidelined fans with a feeling of both thankfulness for the leak and bitter disappointment because of its non-official launch.
