It seems inevitable that Lonzo Ball will soon be departing from Los Angeles.
The 2017 #2 overall draft pick has not exactly lived up to the expectations previously forecast. Many analysts compared the sophomore point guard to the likes of the assist machine Jason Kidd. Despite having flashes of high floor IQ, Ball still needs to develop a legitimate jump shot. The Los Angeles native ended his rookie season averaging 10.2 ppg, 7.2 assists, 1.7 steals, along with a field goal percentage of 36%.
The Lakers have been under the spotlight since the arrival of none other than the locomotive known as “King James”. As if last night’s Anthony Davis trade request drama wasn’t enough. The official announcement from agent Rich Paul regarding Anthony Davis has made trade request Heat Up Involving Bulls and Celtics. There’s now more news connected to the Davis-Lakers drama. USAToday.com is reporting that Lakers guard Lonzo Ball has requested two trade destinations if he is dealt in a three-team deal, which is being reported for the Lakers to acquire the services of Anthony Davis.
According to USA Today, those two trade destinations would be the New York Knicks, or the Chicago Bulls. The reason for the choices, according to Clutch points.com, is due to Lonzo’s shoe deal being in a big NBA market. The Lakers, Knicks, and Bulls have the three biggest markets in the NBA. The Lakers have been linked in constant reports connected with Anthony Davis, and there are numerous reports indicating that Ball would be one of the players who would be moved to acquire Anthony Davis.
Do you think that Lonzo will flourish into a top option on another team?
