Rapper Luce Cannon revealed during a recent jail call that he is now sharing a cell with fellow rapper Bricc Baby. Both were arrested as part of a sweeping federal RICO indictment targeting the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips, offering a rare peek into their current detention circumstances as they face serious charges.
Luce Cannon and Bricc Baby were swept up in “Operation Draw Down,” a large-scale federal initiative aimed at dismantling the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang. Bricc Baby was apprehended in Los Angeles around March 19, 2025. Luce Cannon was initially arrested in Las Vegas before being transferred to Los Angeles to face charges tied to the same investigation. This transfer landed them in the same detention facility, setting the stage for their unexpected reunion as cellmates.
U.S. Attorney Joseph T. McNally underscored the operation’s purpose:
“Our goal is to make our communities safer and rid our streets of these criminal street gangs.”
The arrests mark a significant push to curb organized crime in the region.
The arrests are part of a broader RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) indictment that also ensnared Eugene Henley Jr., widely known as “Big U.” Authorities accuse Big U of leading a “mafia-like organization,” leveraging his prominence and deep ties to the Rollin’ 60s and other street gangs to intimidate businesses and individuals.
Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally elaborated on the charges:
“The allegations reveal a criminal enterprise that engaged in murder, extortion, human trafficking, and fraud—all led by a supposed anti-gang activist and purported music entrepreneur who was nothing more than a violent street criminal.”
Alongside Luce Cannon and Bricc Baby, 18 other members and associates of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips face federal charges in this case.
Luce Cannon broke the news of his shared cell with Bricc Baby during recorded jail calls that have since gone viral. In a call from early April 2025, he told a woman—presumably his partner—
“Yeah, I’m good. You won’t believe who’s my cellmate—Bricc Baby.”
Her shocked response captured the moment:
“That is insane. Was that like pre-planned? Oh my gosh. So Bricc Baby is your cellmate—that is wild.”
In another segment, Luce Cannon hinted at influencing the arrangement:
“When I figured out the jail, I’m like, ‘Bro, soon as he comes, I’m about to bring him here with us.’ So I’m like, ‘Yeah, he’s about to come right here with us.”
While it’s unclear how much control he had, his comments suggest he played a role in their pairing. The calls shared widely on platforms like YouTube via channels such as No Jumper Clips on April 4, 2025, have fueled public fascination.
Speculation abounds about potential cooperation with authorities, with some YouTube videos like “Who’s gonna tell first? Big U, Bricc Baby, or Luce Cannon?”—suggesting Luce Cannon, at 42, might “stay solid” to preserve his street credibility. Such discussions, however, remain purely conjectural.
The openness of the jail calls has also raised eyebrows, as both rappers seem aware of being recorded yet speak candidly about their situation.
Bricc Baby is no stranger to legal trouble. In June 2023, he was arrested amid claims from controversial figure Charleston White of a “$10,000 stack on his head.” Earlier, in 2017, he faced charges for an alleged armed robbery, culminating in a brief police chase before his surrender.
Luce Cannon’s prior legal history is less documented, but his recent jail calls reflect resilience. On March 25, 2025, he said,
“Staying with my head up to the sky, keep grinding… nothing to hold me back, ain’t crying about nothing, standing strong.”
The cellmate pairing of Luce Cannon and Bricc Baby adds a compelling twist to the unfolding RICO case against the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips. As federal prosecutors press forward with their case—including against Big U—the unusual detention arrangement has captured widespread attention.
While Luce Cannon’s comments hint at his involvement in the setup, the whole story remains murky. As the legal process advances, the dynamics between these cellmates and their defense strategies will likely draw increasing scrutiny, keeping this saga in the spotlight.
