17-year-old budding star Melvoni is on fire these days. Coming fresh off the release of his two new singles “Get Money” featuring Tyla Yaweh and DDG and “Forgot About The Streets” with Badda TD & Brillo, he is having a successful year musically. “Forgot About The Streets” is to be featured on the soundtrack to the critically-acclaimed Epix TV series Godfather of Harlem, starring Forest Whitaker and Nigel Thatch.
“Get Money” showcases Melvoni’s evolved rap style, displaying a more mature version of his flows. As his momentum grew in 2020 through the #MelvoniApprovedFridays series, featuring standout tracks like “Stackhouse” and “Chrome,” the young prodigy became known for his infectious and energetic choruses, and “Get Money” follows suit.
DDG and Tyla Yaweh, two emerging artists known for their hits “Moonwalking in Calabasas” and “Tommy Lee” respectively, join forces with Melvoni to create an incredible collaboration. This dynamic partnership is sure to leave a lasting impression and become a favorite among music lovers when shared experiences resume.
Despite his youth, Melvoni isn’t concerned with “boxing” himself in. In addition to his forthcoming EP, by way of “Forgot About The Streets,” he is part of the musical support for Season 2 of Godfather of Harlem, the marquee television show chronicling the transformation of New York City during the crime boss era. Appearing beside Melvoni on the soundtrack thus far are the likes of Adé, Swizz Beatz and the late DMX.
