Mikey Williams Teases New Track with Mobile, Alabama’s NoCap

Mikey Williams, a rising star on and off the basketball court, is shaking things up in the music scene. The track he’s working on was recently teased over his social media, showing his collaboration with NoCap, The rap sensation buzzing in Mobile, Alabama. The short clip, just 19 seconds long, has already sparked a wave of fans who can’t wait to see what this unlikely duo has in store for them.

But Mikey Williams is headlining news in basketball courts and about to step into the music scene with a fresh sound. The collaboration with NoCap, whose real name is Kobe Vidal Crawford, already rings something special. NoCap has been one of the more consistent emotive and heavy hip-hop purveyors. His recent debut album, Mr. Crawford, saw critical reviews for his interestingly combined bluesy guitars with clever wordplay reflecting his personal experiences growing up in Mobile.

The fusion of Mikey’s still-developing style with NoCap’s clear-cut sound has hyped the fans. The collaboration has come at a very important time for the two artists, who have been battling personal demons, legal challenges, and their growing careers.

Memphis star basketball recruit Mikey Williams has had quite extreme legal issues. He faced nine felony counts from an incident at his residence on 17th March 2023. The charges involved assault with a weapon and firing into an occupied vehicle.

Williams recently reached a plea deal in which he pleaded guilty to one felony count of making a criminal threat along with a special allegation of using a firearm during the threat. The remaining charges were dismissed under the plea deal, in which he was ordered to attend a gun safety course, attend anger management sessions, and perform 80 hours of community service. If he fulfills all these conditions and does not get into further trouble with the law, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor.

The rise of NoCap in the hip-hop world hasn’t been less than phenomenal. Upon returning from serving seven months in prison earlier this year, he seemed to have come up with an even more focused approach toward music. His critically acclaimed album Mr. Crawford was the perfect marriage of emotional depth and hard-hitting beats. With his sophomore album, Before I Disappear Again, in proximity, NoCap is now prepared to make his authoritative mark in the industry.

Fans have taken to social media to express excitement over the preview. The song has seen some really good feedback so far, with many complimenting its vibe and energy. This is especially good news for Williams since it’s one of his first major projects in the music business. His collaboration with NoCap, possessing a powerful and loyal base, is a sound move that might grow his audience.

One fan commented, “Can’t wait to hear the full track! Mikey and NoCap together is something I never knew I needed.” Another said, “Mikey’s been through a lot, and it’s cool to see him channel that into something creative.”

This is bigger than Williams and NoCap collaborating to release a new song; it is about them connecting with their audiences on a deeper level. Williams, still enrolled in online classes at the University of Central Florida, is taking a hiatus from the court as he focuses on putting his legal matters aside, and it appears that music has become an important outlet for him.
