So apparently being transgender is a trend now?
Carissa Pinkston has recently come under fire for falsely coming out as a transgender woman while trying to avoid transphobic comments.
The story is truly disgusting!
Pinkson works with big brands like Coach, Marc Jacobs, Nike, and most recently Rihanna‘s Savage x Fenty.
That’s all going downhill now due to lying about being transgender. After being recognized of who she really was, she was fired for posting transphobic comments.
Apparently, Carissa Pinkston lied about being a transgender woman only so people would stop sending her hateful messages because of her transphobic Facebook posts.
On Facebook, Carissa began posting under the name Rissa Danielle in late May.
She made two negative comments invalidating the identities of transgender people.
“Being Transgender does NOT make you a woman. It makes you simply Transgender,” she wrote in one post. In another post, she said, “This is how they want to be perceived. In a biological context, there are Females and Males. This is the world in 2019.”
Two months after the comments, she apologized and “came out” as trans.
After receiving heat for her comments and being fired, Carissa Pinkston came out as trans herself. In a lengthy Instagram post, she said:
“I wasn’t ready to come out about it yet, but today I got fired and I’ve been receiving hate mail and death threats ever since, so I’m being forced to tell the truth. I’m Transgender. I transitioned at a very young age and I’ve lived my Life as a Female ever since. It’s been very hard to keep this secret but what I said about Trans-Women is a direct reflection of my inner insecurities and I have since come to realize that I am a Woman…WE ALL ARE!”
But wait… we’re not done yet!
Twitter began to do its investigating.
Model Aaron Philip, who is transgender, was pretty angry when she found out Carissa Pinkston was claiming to be transgender, especially because she knows Carissa personally.

A few days later, Carissa Pinkston made another Instagram post admitting that she lied about being a transgender woman.
“I apologize for any transphobic remark I’ve ever made towards the Trans community. I panicked and I thought if I came out as Trans that I could somehow make things better for myself, but it appears I’ve only made things worse. I’m truly sorry. I’m only 20 and I’m human. I make mistakes but I refuse to let them define me. I hope you all can forgive me and move on from this because I’m so much more than this incident and I’m not a coward.”
