MrBeast Crew Shaken Up! Ava Kris Tyson Steps Down Amidst Allegations (Full Story)

Ava Kris Tyson, one of the popular content creators across MrBeast’s team, officially left the group over allegations of inappropriate behavior. Clearly, events show that the issue has created quite a stir in the online community, casting light on bigger issues of conduct among influencers.

The controversy began on July 21 after several YouTube videos surfaced that apparently showed messages sent by Ava Kris Tyson while they were 20. According to the videos, this communication was with a fan who is now just 13 years old. This immediately went viral, begging questions over the nature of the interactions and the responsibility of content creators. It came as a surprise when one of the alleged victims defended Tyson. “Massive lies and twisting the truth,” LavaGS said of the accusations. Further, he added, “Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of.”

On July 23, Ava Kris Tyson issued a statement in response to the allegations.

Tyson apologized time and again for his former actions or comments that might have hurt or offended anyone. “It was not my intent,” he clarified. They also told MrBeast they would be leaving his team and not posting any more on social media so they got the space to focus on their family and mental health. Tyson reflected on past humor, acknowledging it was no longer acceptable, and assured personal improvement.

The incident raised reactions from big content creators such as Pokimane, Valkyrae, and Ludwig. Pokimane showed interest, saying, “Any inappropriate behavior towards minors is unacceptable,” while adding that she did not know all the details at the time of her comment. This comes at a time when a similar controversy was faced by Dr Disrespect, who admitted to sending inappropriate messages to minors via the Whisper feature on Twitch way back in 2017, following which he was banned from Twitch in 2020. The recurrence of similar incidents proves this is a worrying trend and that there needs to be so much clarification that draws boundaries and responsible behavior for being a content creator.
