NBA Star Isaiah Thomas Shares Terrifying AK-47 Threat Ends with Surprise Recognition

A very disturbing experience has been shared by NBA player Isaiah Thomas, who plays for the Phoenix Suns. According to him, the child aimed an AK-47 at them, which is claimed to have happened in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington.

Thomas posted the incident on Twitter, but the post is now deleted. He wrote in his tweet:

    Thank you God 🙏🏾

Really trippin on how these young kids are moving around!!!

I really had a life changing moment yesterday where a kid pulled a AK47 out on me and the homies and if it wasn’t for who I was and him recognizing me in my own city he probably woulda ended all of our lives. Be SAFE 🙏🏾

Thomas said that the situation was calmed down when the kid realized it was him. He referred to that experience as “a moment that changed his life” and really showed that the behavior of little children can be so scary.

Popularity and success, undisputed, is what Isaiah Thomas spells in the NBA. He previously played several seasons in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings, who drafted him in 2011. A two-time (2016, 2017) NBA All-Star, Thomas was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2017. A 5’9″ point guard, Thomas has defied his height, which is considered diminutive in NBA circles, and established himself as one of the NBA’s best scorers. He returned to the NBA with the Phoenix Suns in 2024 after spending the entire 2022-23 season on the free-agent market. An important symbol within the Greater Seattle basketball scene, IT feels very much at home within the context of the Pacific Northwest.
