Fans and critics alike are astounded at rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, for reportedly earning a stunning $100 million while under house arrest. Shutterstock The remarkable thing about his life, stated explicitly by his manager Alex Junnier during an Instagram Live, is how YoungBoy remains somehow unaware that the mere few years he’s spent in professional music has afforded him a level of cultural relevance that ranks him among the most distinguished of his generation.
This has resulted in significant speculation as a result of the brazen claim in regards to YoungBoy making money. This exact amount hasn’t been substantiated, however, despite his manager boasting of this impressive figure in the press, and claims in YoungBoy’s music and on his personal social media. Still, his sources of riches are clear and various.

How He Earned the Money?
YoungBoy also makes a strong play in music sales and streaming. The constant release of albums, mixtapes, and singles makes sure he always has something new to make money off of with YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. With tens of millions of followers flocking en masse to his songs at the top of streaming charts his music rounds out.
YoungBoy’s YouTube channel is another force and all of his videos have accumulated millions of view. His earnings are even further increased by the ad revenue that is generated from such a huge following.
In addition to his music, YoungBoy makes money with his namesake line of clothing and accessories. However, these are also some of his biggest fan-favorites, meaning an extra stream of income for him, too.
The rapper also makes money from collaborations, brand deals and sponsorships. With so many people who like him, he is the brand ambassador of so many brands.
House Arrest Details
YoungBoy is under house arrest due to a serious legal matter. In September 2020, he was arrested by US Federal authorities in Louisiana for the second time on weapons charges. These charges involved possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and having an unregistered weapon while filming a music video. Two years later, however, Yung was on the other side of the law; he faced a high speed police chase in Los Angeles where he was chased down by an FBI and LAPD task force.
YoungBoy was hit with a $500,000 bond and was sent home to lockdown his home in Utah in October 2021. He is placed under house arrest, required to use an electronic ankle bracelet to monitor his movements and prevented from leaving a certain area. When his current house arrest will end is unclear as it depends on judgements from ongoing court cases.
Current Status of His Cases
YoungBoy’s biggest legal problem is the federal weapons case. While he sits on house arrest, his lawyers are working hard to close these charges. Its ruling will have major consequences for his continued liberty.
Along with the assault and kidnapping, YoungBoy is facing several other charges throughout his history in the legal system. Some of those cases have been negotiated, some are now considered inactive in the face of the stronger federal weapons charges.
The reported $100 million that NBA YoungBoy made while under house arrest illustrates the double edge to his life: apparently immense wealth buoying him amid life-altering legal problems. The fact that he can amass this wealth without even walking out of his home reflects not only his influence but the undying faith of his fanbase to catch him, or pay in order to sit at home and support him. YoungBoy’s journey is far from over as the legal saga of stardom and money and the cost of liberty continues on.
