North West Opens Up to Kim About Her Favorite Day With Dad

In a fun and revealing interview with her mom, Kim Kardashian, for Interview Magazine’s 55th-anniversary issue, 10-year-old North West shares very personal reflections on family, faith, and the future. Playful banter and candid insights from North gave readers a peek into what it is like to grow up as the daughter of two cultural icons, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

When asked to describe the best day she’s ever had, North didn’t flinch: a family trip to Italy with dad Kanye West, sister Chicago, brother Saint, and Psalm. But the coolest part clearly wasn’t sightseeing or Italian gelato. North recounted finding weird “devil statues” in the house they were staying in.

“Maybe in Italy with Dad. It was just us and my siblings, and that’s when I really brought them close to god, because we had this house and there was these devil statues, and I was like, “Mm-mm, mm-mm, no, girl. I was like, “We got to pray.” So then I taught Chi and Psalm and Saint how to pray. “

She recounted taking the initiative to teach her brothers how to pray. She felt that it was her responsibility to take care of her little siblings spiritually.

“God really did his thing after,”

She claims with pride. What was seized in this moment wasn’t just a laugh at one crazy anecdote; it was actually quite a poignant look into North and her relationship with faith and family values.

Other than that, another highlight of this interview was North’s passion for fashion. While still preteen, she emphasized an interest in streetwear and ’90s-inspired looks. She made sure to point out that her dad, Kanye, and artist Tyler, the Creator are two of her key influences. And North has already proclaimed her dream to one day start a clothing line-cheekily named after herself, “North West.” If this dream does come to life, get ready for the next wave in West fashion.

North playfully teased Kim for never having cooked. “Mom, you haven’t cooked since two Halloweens ago!” she joked. Kim shared that her last attempt in the kitchen was “macaroni, fried chicken, cornbread-add with “I’m one-trick pony.” Jovial moments of mother-daughter affection COC, showing what exists between them when cameras and lights are not around.

Though she may share her parents’ flair for the creative, North’s feelings about school are a little more complicated.

    “I don’t really like school,”

she confessed. But then she surprised Kim by revealing her favorite subject is Latin – one that few kids would enthusiastically endorse. She expressed ambivalence toward art class:

“I like art, but the class is kind of annoying.”

North’s refreshingly honest take on school life makes her all the more relatable to kids her age despite her peculiar upbringing.

Growing up in the public eye has afforded North serious tools for dealing with the media. While she loves taking her own selfies, getting photographed by less-than-consensual paparazzi isn’t her thing.

“If they catch me off-guard, I just say, ‘I’m going to sue you,'”

she said with a grin. It’s a small but telling glimpse into the way young West guards the pressures of celebrity life with humor and wit.

She already has a very sophisticated sense of travel, sounding like a seasoned jet-setter.

“I love Japan and New York,”

She revealed, calling Japan her favorite place in the world. She even threw in a little Japanese—”Ohayo gozaimasu“-for good measure during the interview, displaying an endearing fascination with the culture and fashion scene.

“The people there are so stylish,”

North purred. Her fascination with trying new things and being surrounded by other cultures means that travel will likely be a big part of her future.

In the interview, North West gave a rare look into her life, balancing childhood innocence with the unique challenges thrown her way through being in the limelight. Her personality really came across-from the spiritual moments in Italy to the funny digs against her mom, it was all a mix of creativity, faith, and playfulness. As she keeps growing, it’s clear that North is forging her own, whether the subject is faith, fashion, or using wit to handle the public eye.
