During which the Migos rapper was at the center of an intense and physical altercation with members of the entourage of French rapper Gazo outside the Hôtel du Collectionneur in Paris on November 13, 2024, after an argument turned bad. An argument about Offset’s contribution to a music video from Gazo led to escalating tensions, tussling, and complete chaos in the city center.
Offset was in town for both business and promotional appearances. Things started to go wrong when he left the five-star Hôtel du Collectionneur and linked up with the Gazo crew. According to reports, there had been friction between the camps for days because Gazo’s team felt that Offset appeared in the video in a manner that wasn’t good enough. Gazo’s entourage insisted on receiving $150,000 back, which turned the dispute quite serious and physically aggressive.
Well, it only took a matter of seconds after leaving the hotel room for things to escalate from a verbal fight into physical as both entourages started punching each other and kicking out at each other on the sidewalk outside. In one video clip, Offset can be seen being held up against a Sprinter van by a security guard, yelling defiantly back in response to the force used on him, “I’ll fire your ass up! ” Fights continued inside the hotel lobby, security teams literally had to lock the doors to avoid further violence. The scuffle sent a woman flying onto the pavement, making the scene even more chaotic.
While police attended on scene, no arrest was made, and soon the crew of both teams got dispersed. A surprise was in store very shortly after how serious the fight had gotten, however. Gazo posted an Instagram photo of himself and Offset announcing the two were collaborating on a new song, “Wemby,” that would comprise part of the new album, Gazo’s Apocalypse coming on November 29th. The photo showed the two artists beaming over drinks-the fight, at least for the time being, was over. Of course, Offset’s Parisian visit wasn’t all about the music since he also made a paid appearance at Luks Kebab, reportedly trousering £10,000 for the brief visit.
This France-bound journey came at a time of huge change in personal life. Married to Cardi B since 2017, Offset and Cardi have enjoyed ups and downs together, with Cardi recently filing for divorce after six years together. The couple-who have one of the most on-again, off-again relationships in Hollywood-share three children.
The turbulent backdrop lent more weight to Offset’s recent moves, and his feature on Gunna’s “Style Rare” in June marked the last major release he made before this incident in Paris. A situation like this between Offset and Gazo underlines the turbulent nature of the music world, where at times creative collaborations veer into conflict. High-stakes, reputations on line, and financial pressures-most certainly there-can readily escalate misunderstandings or dissatisfaction, as in this case. Not only that, but this is also the building block of resiliency. Sure enough, after their initial clash, two artists bonded together to finish their project by reinforcing a spirit of professionalism.
