Rapper and fashion aficionado Offset weighed in about whether spending lavishly on designer wear for kids is worth it. Recently, during an interview with Billboard at Dover Street Market in New York City, he spoke about both sides of the argument of investing money in high-end fashion for children. The couple’s kids, Kulture and Wave, are normally seen in high-end fashion that creates a lot of debate on the topic.
“Look, I understand,” Offset started. “Kids grow out of clothes quick, and designer stuff ain’t cheap. But there’s just something about putting your kids in fly, high-quality clothes that feels proper. It ain’t all about the clothes; it’s all about that confidence, that pride it installs within them.”
Offset said that when my kids dress up, they feel like they are something. “You know, not only does it make them look good, but also feeling good too,” he said. He believes that taste and self-respect should be instilled in children while heaps of young. “That ain’t all about looking good; it’s about feeling good too,” he said, adding that doing so goes farther than just appearances and borders on their confidence and pride.
He did note, however, that while these designer clothes can be expensive, they usually have a longer shelf life. “You can always sell the clothes they’ve outgrown and buy new ones,” he said. That way, the clothes remain in use, and it also instills in the children how to be practical about reusing quality stuff instead of quantity.
Offset confirmed that not everybody can splurge on designer clothes for their kids: “It’s not for everyone, and that’s OK. There are lots of stylish, affordable options out there. The key is to find one that works for your family and budget,” he said. He and Cardi B mix designer pieces with a few affordable ones to add versatility into the kids’ wardrobes.
Offset and Cardi B aren’t holding back from keeping their kids fashionably high-profile; each different, however. For example, Kulture loves princess dresses and is super girly, whereas Wave loves casual and sporty attire. Cardi B’s stepdaughter Kalea brings some mixture of girly and tomboyish outfits into her wardrobe.
The two let their kids express themselves through what they wear. He’s always praising Kulture for fresh outfits and confidence in what she is wearing, while Cardi B believes in helping the step-kids find clothes that show their personality, giving them self-pride and responsibility.
Offset and Cardi B set a good example in the choice of fashion, teaching their kids to appreciate their clothes and take good care of them in return. This balance of style, practicality, and sustainability in practice keeps them looking and feeling their best.
The parents celebrated all the milestones of the children in trendy outfits and events. For instance, on different occasions, Kulture’s fourth birthday was celebrated in a sumptuous mermaid-themed birthday party with a generous gift of $50,000 in cash. Indeed, these stress that the special moments of their children will be remembered and fashionably groomed.
Offset’s view presents a balanced argument on the issue of kids wearing designer clothes. On one hand, he admitted the merits it brings-for instance, confidence and good quality. On the other hand, he understands that not everyone can afford such finery. Offset draws his conclusion that it is not all about the clothes; it is actually all about the confidence and pride instilled into the children.
