Summer Is Canceled
As we all know, almost everything in the country has been shut down due to the coronavirus. This includes restaurants, live events, social gatherings, and, most importantly, schools. It’s been a little over a month since online classes for students. As hard of an adjustment as it has been for everyone, it’s not going to change any time soon.
On Thursday, April 9th, PA Governor Tom Wolf announced that all schools in the state will remain shut down until the end of the school year. Students will continue to learn through online applications such as zoom until this pandemic comes to an end.
Wolf said in the following statements, “We must continue our efforts to mitigate the spread of the virus during this national crisis.” “This was not an easy decision, but closing schools until the end of the academic year is in the best interest of our students, school employees, and families.”
What began as just a mere two week shut down, has now become the standard for the rest of the year. And PA is not the first to enact this policy. All over the country, states are taking similar measures to ensure that the coronavirus does not continue to spread. We can only hope that this comes to an end soon so that students can go back to having a regular school day.
