Prince Fox integrates elements of dance pop, emo and synth rock on his futuristic Dim Mak composition “Time Alone,” featuring Australian indie rock band The Griswolds.
Originally from NYC, Sam Lassner (better known as Prince Fox) is a Los Angeles-based songwriter/producer who gained recognition by remixing songs from artists including 3LAU, Cazzette and SNBRN. Since then, he’s developed his original material into a unique brand of future pop, highlighted on 2018’s “Open Invite.” Coinciding with the release, Prince Fox kicked off his Open Invite Tour in February, hitting cities across North America, including a stop in the Bahamas. His new material builds off an impressive back catalog, which includes “Fragile,” a collaboration with Academy Award-nominated actress/singer Hailee Steinfeld, and his Dim Mak debut “Just Call,” featuring Bella Thorne. “Just Call” took the world by storm, re-invigorating Thorne’s music career and landing in 18 Global Spotify Viral charts including the US, UK, Mexico, Australia, with a music video that became the #7 Most Trending Video on YouTube. Following the success of “Just Call,” Prince Fox returned to Dim Mak with “Space,” a future pop collaboration with Quinn XCII, and most recently put his own spin on Jimmy Eat World’s classic, “The Middle.”
Joining Prince Fox on “Time Alone” are Sydney-based indie rock band, The Griswolds. This collaboration between Prince Fox and The Griswolds has been years in the making—dating back to when The Griswolds played a show at NYU, where Sam was a student at the time. After the show, a conversation sparked up between Sam and band member, Chris. Little did they know that they’d be reunited in the Dim Mak studio years later, resulting in “Time Alone.” The Griswolds are perhaps best known for track, “Beware The Dog,” which has been streamed nearly 22 million times on Spotify, and was chosen as the 4th best Alternative Rock Single of 2014 by Billboard. In April 2018, the group released Year After Year, a full-length acoustic album.
