Prison Break Reunion! Purcell & Miller Team Up for Hostage Thriller “Snatchback”

So prepare to escape of the doldrums, Prison Break diehards! Two of them are Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who will team up once again in the upcoming hostage drama series “Snatchback.

You’d have to be a real Prison Break fan who watched Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) help Michael Scofield escape from jail and develop that brotherly bond only to find one in the first few episodes of their rebooted show. Snatchback immerses viewers in the high-stakes world of international hostage reclamation where an elite team roams with impunity across borders, answering to no one but themselves.

Pushed by actual accounts, The show follows the life of a spy and turbulent operations. However, the real show-stopping magic comes with the long awaited return of both Purcell and Miller to The CW. Perhaps some of their on-screen chemistry that proven undeniable is one thing for which Prison Break is known, considering the series was a success from 2005 to 2009 and remains close to heart by fans?

This wouldn’t be the first time these two exceptional actors have joined forces beyond prison walls. In the CW’s Arrow verse both Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, they gave compelling performances as anti-heroes Heat Wave and Captain Cold that comic book fans will remember.

Snatchback, however, sounds like it will be an original production. Despite their Prison Break characters being arguably what they are most well known for, both Purcell and Miller have enjoyed remarkable resumes. Purcell’s film credits include “Blade: Trinity,” “Killer Elite” and the recent Netflix smash, “Blood Red Sky.” Miller, meanwhile, has been seen in the likes of Law & Order: SVU”, “The Loft” and most recently on television shows such as Madam Secretary while writing the screenplay to psychological thriller “Stoker”.

Not that enthusiasm for “Snatchback” ends with the set pieces and location scoping. It’s that emotional core to the show, says Tish Cyrus-Purcell (pictured), founder of industry work sheets. Yet, she stresses the courage of her characters: average men and women driven to exceptional lengths in order prevent fatalities amidst dangerous circumstances.

The aura around fans is building up since “Snatchback” – being developed by Universal Television, those diehard aficionados are expecting it anytime soon. When news of Purcell and Miller’s reunion first hit the streets earlier this week, it set off some major excitement within in the entertainment world – rightfully. With the undeniable chemistry of Spencer and Morgan, alongside a world as high-stakes as hostage rescue, this is one slews for which you will hold your breath.
