The incident began outside a club event at Saki in Houston, Texas, where Richey and Charles, 19, were attending an outdoor pool party. According to the court filing, prepared on March 31, 2025, the couple argued after Richey snatched Charles’s phone. They took separate car services to 806 Main St., where the situation escalated. Charles told police that Richey pushed her into the second row of a vehicle, climbed in, and began choking her with both hands around her neck. She reported he choked her approximately 20 times over two hours, each episode lasting 6-10 seconds, and even licked his hand to wet her neck, further impairing her breathing.
