Ross updated fans on his latest venture in animated Instagram stories. “I just ordered two elephants, a male and a female. Promise Land, get ready,” he proclaims into the camera with great gusto. But it’s not just the elephants he is planning to add that are new. He also announced plans to purchase two giraffes. “You have to take them somewhere really high so you can feed them things,” he quipped, ever the one of humor.
Rick Ross is a massive man with even bigger ambitions, and his latest to have his zoo is among the biggest. So it was no surprise when he shared in a series of posts what an “unbelievable opportunity” it was to be able to nurture and take care of the lives of elephants and giraffes. He already boasts an exotic array of animals at his Promise Land estate, including two Senegalese lions, four horses, a bull, and two buffalo. Now, he’s ready to welcome these gentle giants to his sanctuary.
It seems Ross has embarked on a more creative process than merely identifying with the identity of a “big boss,” which includes assembling animals for his zoo. He added that he gets inspiration by providing animals for a movie production, like the much-anticipated “Coming to America 3,” which he looks forward to shooting at Promised Land. As already said, this is just another illustration of how Ross combines his other passions with business opportunities by presenting his multifaceted creativity.
Moreover, Ross’s zoo could offer him practical benefits beyond his passion. In Georgia, keeping farm animals entitles homeowners to receive an agricultural tax exemption, which Ross’s buffalo already qualifies him for. Expanding his zoo, especially with more exotic, rare, and endangered species, might bring more financial perks and, thus, make this venture both a personal and economic win.
The public reaction to some of Ross’s ambitious plans appears to split. The Promise Land Zoo excites many fans and animal lovers, considering it a distinctive, by-all-means-positive undertaking. They understand Ross’s desire to have the exotic animals under a roof and look forward to seeing his zoo develop.
However, others, too, raise concerns, namely animal rights activists and experts. On the one hand, whether keeping such extensive and complex animals as elephants and giraffes in a private zoo is feasible is a question. These animals require ample space, proper care, and the necessary infrastructure to live their lives. Critics have called for a very close look at Ross’s license application, implying that the zoo meets all standards required to care for animals’ safety.
A zoo license is no easy task to obtain. Ross must strictly adhere to the regulations regarding his animals, their care and safety, and the facilities involved. That includes proper enclosures, veterinary care, animal nutrition plans, and public safety measures. It also consists of meeting all local zoning requirements and whatever permits are needed.
However, these issues don’t seem to deter Ross. His imagination for Promise Land Zoo works at the intersection of his passion and creative ambition with practical advantages: if it works out, it will be a one-of-a-kind, adored by all, demonstrating how much he cares for animal welfare.
