Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash has been cleared in a sexual assault lawsuit but must pay the victim $30K. According to Billboard, a jury on Wednesday (February 15) found that he was not guilty of the charges.
Photographer Monique Bunn filed the lawsuit in April 2019. The photographer claims that she spent a night at Dash’s home and was sexually assaulted by him while she was sleeping in his daughter’s room.

According to the lawsuit, photographer Monique Bunn was working on a project with Dash back in April when she went to his house. She slept in his daughter’s room and was awakened by the singer, who groped her butt and breast without her consent.
The suit claims that Bunn was wearing only a robe and no undergarments when she was groped. She claimed she fought off the attack, though she was left traumatized by it.
She also alleges that Dash tried to silence her by lying about landing a television deal with WEtv for a docuseries based on her life. She names Dash, his fiancee Raquel Horn and entertainment companies Poppington LLC and Damon Dash Studios as defendants. She also accuses them of theft by conversion and negligent emotional distress.

Bunn filed a lawsuit against Dash in 2019 after she claimed he had inappropriately touched her while she was napping at his house. She also filed defamation charges after he hopped on social media and accused her of charging thousands of dollars to his credit card without permission.

She’s also alleging that Dash lied about her relationship with another woman, and that she falsified a deal for a docuseries.
The jury found that Dash’s actions were not malicious, but it did order him to pay the victim $30K. It’s a small amount, but it could help the entrepreneur stay afloat in his current financial state.
This isn’t Dash’s first run in with the law.
