Roseanne Barr Drops Pro-Trump Track with Tom MacDonald Before Inauguration Day

Roseanne Barr teams up with Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald for a pro-Trump rap anthem entitled “Daddy’s Home,” on the heels of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration this January 20, 2025. The collaboration is sending shock waves on social media as fans and critics alike go into a frenzy over the bold, politically charged track.

The music video for “Daddy’s Home” shows Barr in a whole different light. Trading in her signature style for full-on hip-hop swag, she rocks blond box braids, chunky gold chains, and oversized shades. The comedian-turned-rapper fully commits to the character, giving the camera the bird and even shaking her rear end in tight jeans to drive the point across.

The visuals are against a backdrop of staunch Trump supporters waving flags in celebration of his re-election victory. Energy from Barr is electric, confidently rapping, “We won, you mad, it’s done, too bad, boo-hoo, so sad,” playfully taunting those who criticize Trump.

Barr’s verse addresses free speech and perseverance, even referencing her infamous 2018 tweet about Valerie Jarrett that got her hit sitcom “Roseanne” axed. She raps, “They try to cancel me and say I’m a racist. I got a mean hook, they can’t get me with that jam. Trying to take away my right to go and say this. Listen up, ’cause this Granny’s going bad.

Barr also seems to swipe at Eminem: “Screw Eminem, Granny’s got a new jam,” gleefully defying in celebration of Trump’s victory. The result is an interesting mix of humor, controversy, and a sharp defense of her outspoken persona.

With a style of music described as unapologetically political, Tom MacDonald brings the expected attention to detail on the track that elevates its very bold message. MacDonald, fresh off his collaboration in the hit “Facts” with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, adds a slick rap flow to the song. His past success in topping the iTunes chart makes him an ideal partner for Barr’s music debut.

The reaction to “Daddy’s Home” was swift and polarized. Within hours of its release, hundreds of thousands of views were recorded on YouTube, as obvious Trump supporters praised the track as a rallying cry with Inauguration Day in sight. Smell the comments from thrilled fans celebrating Barr’s bold move into the music world.

But not everyone is sold, citing Barr’s checkered past and questioning why she’s been welcomed back into the spotlight. But the warm reception to “Daddy’s Home” serves as quite the contrast to Barr’s last foray into music-her notorious National Anthem performance at a Padres baseball game back in the 1990s, which was widely panned.
