Sauce Walka Won’t Retaliate for Sayso P’s Death—But Warns He Has 500 Men Ready

Sauce Walka is mourning the senseless death of his close friend and artist, Sayso P, who was murdered in a shooting in Memphis on March 22, 2025. The shooting left Sauce Walka wounded in the leg, but not critically, but the true wound, he reveals, is the loss of a person he had considered family. Although he has a loyal fan base that would avenge his loss, the rapper has been quick to state that revenge is not his path forward. His way forward, he is opting, is to honor Sayso P’s legacy while urging the community to stop senseless violence.

The fatal shooting was in Memphis, Tennessee, and Sayso P, whose name is Latoriun Hunt, was shot and killed. Police identified 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge as the primary suspect and issued an arrest warrant for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Police also released surveillance footage of Dandridge and are offering a $6,000 reward for any information that will lead to his arrest.

Following the loss of his friend, Sauce Walka took to Instagram with an emotional post, reflecting on their decade-long friendship and expressing immense regret over the final moments of Sayso P.

“Tears or words can’t explain the loss I’m enduring!” he posted. “Splatt, I wish your fat ahh listened to me and stayed in the room. I told you we could smoke that blunt when security and the rest of our familia get here.”

He recalled the friendship they shared, saying

“It’s been four years since @tsf1punch_10100 brought you into the familia. Did everything I could to help you transform your way of life. From Miami to all 50 states, we been mashing and splashing together.”

Despite his pain and grief, Sauce Walka was quick to announce that he won’t be seeking revenge for Sayso P’s death. Although he conceded that he had the support and influence to get people to act, he stated that he is going in a different direction. “I got 500 men ready, but I ain’t sending nobody,” he stated, pointing out that he is going to let the justice system run its course in the case.

Sauce Walka has been paying tribute to Sayso P by fulfilling promises they had made to each other in Memphis. One of his first stops was PK’s Trap Shack, his late friend’s go-to restaurant.

“We come together, we leave together,”

Rumors quickly spread that Sayso P was assaulted because he allegedly stole $200,000, but his mother was quick to dispel the rumors. She set the record straight in a Facebook post:

“My son never stole anything. Never ran off with anything. Didn’t have to. Haters set him up, but not because he stole a dime.” She went on, “People see him with a stack and say anything. That was his norm.”

“Most of our kings and bosses are beefing with each other,” he wrote. “I hope one day we all stop taking lives from our communities and actually start to enjoy and build better futures for our cultures.”

Sauce Walka concluded his emotional tribute by calling for an end to violence in the community.
