Sexyy Red Offers Free Performance for Big Meech’s Homecoming

Sexyy Red has indeed made an offering of goodwill, to perform for free at Big Meech‘s homecoming celebration upon his release from federal prison. This generous gesture, barely days after Big Meech was released from federal prison, where he had been serving a lengthy sentence since 2008 for his involvement in a criminal enterprise .

When the news broke about Big Meech‘s release, family and fans went to their social media to celebrate. Right in the middle of it all was Sexyy Red; known for her flirtatious and relatable lyrics, joined the conversation with an enthusiastic tweet:, “Where da welcome home party @ I’m trona perform for da freeski.”

Big Meech’s release has been in the headline as this man is associated with well-known customs of hip-hop culture. Big Meech, also known as Demetrius Flenory, is highly known due to founding Black Mafia Family, which is considered a notorious drug trafficking and money laundering organization that existed between the late 1990s and early 2000s within the United States borders.

Combined with his brother Terry Flenory, Known as Southwest T, Big Meech played an integral part in building a leviathan cocaine distribution network realistically projected to do over $270 million in sales.

The Black Mafia Family started as a small operation dealing in cocaine in Detroit during the late 1980s, quickly ballooning into a major player in the American drug trade. They were known to maintain solid affiliations with Mexican drug cartels through which they influenced the flow of cocaine coming into the United States.

With BMF, they also tried their hand at the music industry as a creative agency and hip-hop label that helped them gain even more notoriety and cultural influence.

Eventually, Big Meech’s dealing career caught up with him, landing him in federal prison on charges of drug trafficking in 2005 with a 30-year sentence. Nowadays, the story of Big Meech has been the reason for so many documentaries, not to mention one television series, dramatizing the rise and fall of BMF.

Although Sexyy Red and Big Meech have no past work experience or history of collaboration, the connection they seem to share through the music industry is somewhat impressive. Sexyy Red’s single now blowing, “SkeeYee,” was produced by DJ Meech, which may bring him into a very loose association with Big Meech simply because of his name. This, however, is more coincidental than indicative of a collaborative relationship between the two.

Fans are both thrilled and curious-for the opportunity to see Sexyy Red, who appears to be on the rise in the hip-hop world with the song “Pound Town” and “SkeeYee.” With her energy-filled style and attachment to the current hip-hop scene, she is likable and well-appreciated by the younger generation, who are anxious to support her in any way possible.

While Big Meech’s return to the spotlight after his recent release from prison has brought quite a buzz of interest, that is at least somewhat expected. Hip-hop heads are fascinated by the impact and the legacy left by Big Meech-that is to say, the place his legacy occupies with regard to artists like Sexyy Red. For me, this is one of a kind concert, which at once connects the hip-hop community across time.
