Wakasa Bay in Japan was troubled by a spate of unprovoked dolphin attacks that injured six swimmers. The normally tranquil waters in this tourist spot have caused concern for both locals and visitors alike, as the two were in awe of the marine mammals’ aggressive behavior.
Early reports indicated that, in hotter-than-usual summer weather, four people were swimming offshore when they were suddenly and violently attacked by a wild dolphin. The usually friendly-natured beast rammed swimmers, thus inflicting serious injuries on them. Later that day, two more swimmers had fallen victim to the same hostile dolphin, increasing the total number of injured beach bathers.
