This confirmation by Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, put a new wave of intrigue into what has already been a headline-grabbing case.
“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand,” Agnifilo told reporters. “He’s anxious to tell his story, and he thinks he needs to get on the stand to prove his innocence.”
However, a big legal risk comes with this dramatic move. By testifying, Diddy is literally flinging the door open for cross-examination by federal prosecutors that could easily expose him to questioning over past controversies, including some notorious “freak-off” parties and allegations of assault-most notably by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
