In an interview with PEOPLE magazine published November 12, 2024, former Disney Channel star Skai Jackson took to her heart the announcement of expecting her first child. Skai Jackson, the 22-year-old actress from Disney’s Jessie and Bunk’d who brought the cool Zuri Ross to life in both series, spoke of how she feels over the upcoming baby and how joyful this new chapter makes her. “I’m beyond excited to see the new chapter in my life unfold, welcoming motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!
She said the latter with so much enthusiasm for her future. Skai Jackson stole the fans’ hearts when she was a part of Disney Channel, bringing the charm and wit of her character, Zuri.
Her aspiration began at a tender age while growing up, guided by her mother, Kiya Cole. Skai was raised by Kiya as a single parent and thus shares a strong bond with her mother, who remains her biggest supporter and role model.
Reflecting on her mother, Skai said, “She’s always kept me humble… I feel like when you have that great support system, you cannot go wrong.” Since the pregnancy announcement, the fans and following have also been really supportive, flooding the social media with encouraging messages. The media also underlined her pregnancy by focusing on how strong she had been and how she had handled ups and downs in her personal and professional life. Skai has remained in close contact with her onscreen co-stars whom she refers to as a “Disney family” for many years now. According to her, they all still check up on one another despite states apart and various careers. As Skai did not name the father of her baby, there are lot of speculations that her boyfriend @RichNViolent could be the father of the baby.
He uses the web name Kelaia; he was spotted by Skai from various public sightings and postings on social media. Their love has seen its own highs and lows. This August 2024, Skai was arrested for what was reported as a ‘domestic incident’; she was, however, released without charges being pressed against her. This incident drew some media attention but seems to have had little repercussions on the couple’s relationship, as they seem to go into this new phase together. Other than the new role of motherhood, Skai is planning to continue her acting too. She has been cast in The Man in the White Van, a thriller set to open in December.
