The two split after four years of marriage. In the months leading up to their split, rumors started swirling. Rumors that the singer hired a divorce lawyer because of “serious problems” in the marriage.
The pair were first linked in 2016 after Jonas slipped into her DMs on Instagram. After hitting it off, they began dating in private and spent the summer of 2017 together. They often appeared out in public, from romantic NYC dinners to club dates to casual walks in New York City.
When the fall arrived, they kicked their relationship up a notch and were spotted together all over the US. Whether they were catching a show together in LA or eating a quick bite to eat, the couple was all over social media and the paparazzi.
Despite their busy schedules, the pair managed to make time for each other. Jonas was touring with his brothers Nick and Kevin as the Jonas Brothers, while Turner was filming her ITVX series Joan in the UK.
Nevertheless, their inner circle always hoped things would work out. It didn’t help that Turner and her sisters were reportedly “furious” at the star for taking on too many projects at once. In the end, things were just too much for both sides, and the pair filed for divorce.
In their filings, they cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation. It’s also worth noting that in their statement announcing the split, both sides noted their commitment to their children.
Aside from the children, both parties are entitled to keep their royalties and any money they earned prior to their marriage. Additionally, the pair will each get to keep their respective homes.
