Florida rapper SpotemGottem, also known as Nehemiah Harden, got arrested last Thursday as Spotemgottem high speed chase with police took an unexpected turn. It happened after he led police on a high-speed chase. Then, he tried to hide in a shed nearby.
The incident began near routine for officers. Miami-Dade police attempted a traffic stop on a red Corvette spotted near a Westar gas station on NE 6th Avenue. Spotemgottem high speed chase reached a tense conclusion when the Corvette collided with another vehicle near NE 15th Avenue and 179 Street. Fortunately, there were no reports of serious injuries in the collision. Despite the crash, Harden abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot.
Following a search of the area, officers located the abandoned Corvette. A more concerning discovery awaited them inside the vehicle. A search uncovered a black Glock 23 pistol equipped with a green grip and a Glock switch, a device that illegally modifies the firearm into a fully automatic weapon. In addition to the weapon, officers seized a .40 caliber magazine loaded with 19 rounds of ammunition.
Spotemgottem high speed chase didn’t end there. Officers eventually located him hiding in a shed close to the crash site. He now faces a multitude of charges stemming from the incident. These include fleeing and eluding police, burglary for allegedly seeking refuge in the shed, and possession of a firearm with an illegal attachment.
This arrest comes as a surprise to some fans of SpotemGottem, whose hit single “Beat Box” climbed to the 12th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020. However, for those familiar with the rapper’s legal history. In June 2022, Miami police arrested Harden for allegedly attempting to flee officers while riding a jet ski.
